Best Friends Animal Society
Best Friends is a fantastic organization whose
mission statement is stated simply as "No More
Homeless Pets". They work with individuals,
humane groups and entire communities around the
U.S. setting up no-kill shelters, and spay/nueter,
foster and adoption programs . The organization
was founded by Michael Mountain with the simple
idea that "kindness to animals can bring about a
better world for all of us". I couldn't agree more.
For several years my wife and I have given to Best
Friends great work. We believe strongly in what they
do, everyday. After hurricane Katrina, Best Friends
personnel and volunteers put in a tremendous
amount of work finding and caring for lost animals
and reuniting them with their owners whenever
possible. It was an incredible undertaking. They are
heros.
